Business Barbie

This is kind of a business Barbie look. I love the bright pink and orange together. I wore it to a networking event. I really like this paired with my ice cream tote. It's a little professional but very fun. When you sell sweets you can be a little more fun with your business looks.

How to look cute and cozy this winter

The weather here has been crazy! Snowing one day and a nice sunny day the next. Looking cute and staying warm can be tough. I've found some great pieces that will keep you warm and cute.

A great coat is the best way to stand out in the winter. I like to have light weight coats for the times between sweater weather and super warm coat. These 3 coats make a great impact.
1. This blush faux fur coat is very glam. It's great for night out and would look great with jeans and a tee. $77
2. The red military inspired coat has some girly touches with the full skirt and ruffles. And it's a steal. $44.99
3. The red plaid is super cozy. This isn't as girly and it looks better for warmer climates. $99.90
I LOVE faux fur earmuffs. They are my go-to winter accesory. They keep your ears warm but don't mess up your hair like a hat. If you have to wear heavy down coats they are a great way to add a pop of color.
1. These bright pink earmuffs are so fun! $12.50
2. These aren't totally fur. They have a bit of plaid so they aren't as dramatic. $17.99
3. These jeweled earmuffs are a steal! They are under $5. $4.99
Blanket scarves were my go-to during craft fairs. I always felt like I was put right under a cold air vent or next to a door. These scarves kept me warm and stylish.
1. A ton of blanket scarves are plaid so this leopard is a nice change. $19.99
2. I love the colors on this INC scarf. It also doesn't look very bulky. $38.50
3. This is a classic plaid blanket scarf but it has nice vibrant colors that can go with everything in your closet. $14.98

Another tip I have is fleece lined everything! If you are a leggings person these leggings are only $6.80. I love skirts so fleece lined tights get me through winter. This pair is only $10.
When I'm going to be outside in the cold for a while, I like to layer regular leggings under my jeans. When I went to Christmas Town, I did that and didn't feel too cold.

Ottomans under $250

I've been working on decorating my space. My couch doesn't have an ottoman and I really like ottomans because it's extra seating if I'm entertaining, storage and a place to stretch out. The couch is a hard to match color so I think going with a pop of color is a better option.  I've rounded up 5 great options for under $250 most are under $200.
This bench might be a little too thin. I like the navy and it also comes in a nice teal color. It does have storage. $119.99
I love the color of this one. This green would look really nice with the blush pink on my walls. If I don't use it for an ottoman it might be a stool for my vanity. $95.19
I think I'd prefer this one as a stool instead of an ottoman because it doesn't have storage. I think it's a really nice color. $66.49
This ottoman is microfiber so it'll feel nice. It has a ton of storage. I like the tufting on top and the buttons on the bottom. $157.99

This is the front runner for me. I love the color and the tufting. I think the square is a great shape for my space. It also has a nice amount of storage. $213.99

New Year's Eve

This is what I wore on New Year's Eve. I went to the Cheesecake Factory with my friends and boyfriend. Then we went back to my house to watch the ball drop on tv. I planned on wearing heels with this but comfort won. I think it still looks good with flats.

Dress- Charlotte Russe (exact on sale), Coat- Vintage (similar), Shoes- Payless (similar), Bracelet- Forever 21 (similar)
This dress is different from what I usually wear. I don't do bodycon very often but I loved the color and thought I'd try it out. I'm really happy with it. And this dress is on sale for $20.29!

My favorite outfits of 2016

These are my favorite outfits of 2016 in no particular order. There are widgets below so you can easily shop the looks. If something is sold out I included a similar option.
I kept the colors simple to showcase this cool fringe skirt. Full Post. Nothing in the widget is over $50.

This is one of my favorite looks. A full skirt and sweater is my winter uniform. Full Post

This outfit has one of my pieces from ThredUp. These shoes are on super sale, they are under $25. Full post

I like the bright pants paired with a dark sweater. This sweater is sold out so I put in some other animal sweaters and some elephant accessories. Full Post

2017 Blog Goals

It's been a crazy month for me! Christmas season hit my store earlier than last year. It was very fun but stressful. I've got a little bit of a break now. I want to work on my blog in the next year. I thought I would be fun to set some goals and check in on my progress and see what works and what doesn't.
Schedule Posts- I feel like I couldn't devote quality time to my blog in December because I got busy at work. So I need to get better at scheduling posts when I do have time. I'll be very busy again in February so that will be a really good time to make sure I'm scheduled.

Grow My Instagram Following- I'm at about 157 followers right now by the end of the year I'd like to double that. I'll post more frequently. Right now I only post about half of the outfits I put on the blog so a good first step is to post whenever I post and outfit post.

Start a Newsletter- I'd like to do a newsletter every other week. It would be an update of all of my posts and maybe some other things like a really great item on sale. This is something I'd like to do around March.

Post More Often- I try to post 3 times a week but I would like to post more. I want to post about other things. I enjoy talking about beauty and I've been doing a bit of decorating. But, my first step is to consistently post my normal 3 times a week.

Improve my photos- By the end of the year I'd like to get a better camera. I don't know if I want a DSLR or if I just want to upgrade my point and shoot. My camera is so old that my phone takes better pictures.

Do you have any blog goals? Would you be interested in seeing things besides fashion? Maybe more beauty and the occasional link round up?

My Top Beauty Products of 2016

With the year winding down I thought I would look back on my favorite beauty products. These products aren't nessecarily new products. Some are new and some are older, they are just products I've tried and loved this year.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter- This primer creates such a pretty finish under different finishes of foundations. I love using it with L'Oreal Pro Glow for a super glowy look. It also looks nice with matte foundations. This primer even looks nice on it's own. $38
Too Faced Melted Matte- I have this in two colors, Bend and Snap, and It's Happening. These are nice bold colors. I don't think this lipstick is too drying and it lasts a long time. $21
Clarisonic Mia 2- I LOVE my Clarisonic. I started using it in January. It has changed my skin. I've been stressed this week and normally my skin would be terrible with all of this stress but I've only had a few blemishes. If you have acne issues I completely recommend this. $169
NYX Glitter Primer- I have some glittery eyeshadows that don't show up well. This grips onto the glitter and helps it show up and prevent fall out. The downside of this is that it isn't great to blend over. I tip I read is to do your eye look and then place this on where you want the glitter and pack it on. $5.99
NYX Milk- I use this an eyeshadow base. This works as a primer and it makes colors brighter. It really brings out the pink tones of my Naked 3. $4.49
L'Oreal Pro-Glow Foundation- This is a great affordable foundation. It's glowy but not crazy. It's a nice medium coverage. This is my go-to foundation. I just apply it with my fingers. $12.99
Tarte Shape Tape- This stuff is such full coverage. I mostly use it for my undereye and it lasts all day. There is so much product in the container and the applicator is really big. $24

I wore this to a networking group. It was warm enough that I could wear my over the knee boots without tights. I wanted to be a little festive but not costume-y. I snapped these shots pretty quick with my phone before I went into work.

Blanket Scarf

I do a lot of craft fairs. My usual outfit is a sweater and jeans. Now that it's getting a little chillier, I wanted something that could keep me a bit warmer but isn't too bulky. This blanket scarf is the perfect solution. I can drape it over my shoulders when I'm moving boxes for some more warmth or I can just wear it like a scarf.

November Play by Sephora Review

This month's theme was the Glow-getters. I was pretty happy with this box.
CoverFX primer- It's similar to Becca's Backlight Priming Filter but it doesn't have the scent. I prefer the Becca one. I find that this one works best under a powder foundation. Full size $38

Sephora Collection lipgel in pin up pink- I'm not a fan of glosses but this one feels very moisturizing. I layered it over a matte lipstick and I liked the look. Full Size $12

Laura Mercier Caviar stick in rose gold- I really enjoyed this. It's such a pretty color and it works really well. It's smooth and goes on easily. It looks good on its own but I like to pair it with my naked 3 palette. I think the colors really complement each other. Full Size $29 or you can get a 4 shade sampler set for $38
Cover Fx Primer, Bare Minerals Foundation,  Laura Mercier Caviar stick in rose gold on lid, Limit in the crease, factory in outer corner and outer lower lash line, trick in inner lower lash line, (limit, factory and trick from NAKED 3), Liner- Kat Von D in trooper, Mascara- UD Perversion, Blush- pink macaroon from Sephora Around the world palette, Lips- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa with Sephora Gloss in pin up pink

Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama Makeup remover- The first time I tried this I hated it. I used it like a regular remover and it made my eyes really watery. Then I watched a video and I put it on my hands then rubbed it into my skin. It works really well. I feel like it removes makeup well. It says it works a cleanser but I still followed it up with my normal facewash. Full Size $32

GlamGlow Clearing mud- GlamGlow is one of those things I've wanted to try for a long time. It makes my skin feel really clean and my pores look smaller. My face does feel pretty dry after using it though. Full Size $69

Stella McCartney Pop- It's a bright girly fragance. I think it may be a little more of a spring scent. Full Size $50
